Airlink’s Disaster Response

Airlink is working with airline and logistics partners to rapidly mobilize humanitarian partners to help communities across Venezuela by sending:

  • Search and Rescue and emergency medical teams
  • Disaster assessment and management teams
  • Urgently-needed aid supplies, including medical supplies, medicines, water filters, food, shelter supplies, and more

With damage to the largest airport in Venezuela, Simón Bolívar International Airport, temporarily paused flights into the country, Airlink is working to find the safest and most efficient routes for responders, including looking at options into the closest seaport or regional airports outside of the capital. Airlink has a long history of responding to catastrophic earthquakes, including the Türkiye-Syria earthquake in 2023 and Myanmar earthquake in 2025, and is utilizing best practice developed in those rapid responses to mobilize partners and get immediate relief to communities.

Situation Overview

On June 24, communities and cities near to Valencia, Venezuela, were rocked by back-to-back 7.2 and 7.5-magnitude earthquakes during a national military holiday. The strongest earthquakes in over 125 years leveled buildings and left thousands of people unaccounted for. Over two dozen aftershocks followed throughout the night, leaving significant damage to core infrastructure, including to their largest international airport and major thoroughfares, power sources, and communications.

Following a request for international assistance made by the country’s acting president, Airlink is rapidly working with over 25 of its logistics and humanitarian partners to send emergency relief, including search and rescue teams, emergency medical teams, and their life-saving supplies.
